Welcome to Year 2
Here you will find newsletters and planning for each term or half term to keep you up to date on what your children are learning about in school, as well as some links to useful websites that you may wish to view at home with your children.
At Danemill Primary School, we use the ‘Bug Club’ synthetic Phonics programme to support children’s early reading and writing development. This scheme is used throughout the Pre-School, EYFS and Key Stage 1 and is taught daily for half an hour in the mornings.
Children can log directly into their Bug Club account using this link
A fantastic site! Will you take on the World?
- Isle of Tune
This is a really fun site that allows you to plan a small town. The difference here is that when you let the cars drive down the streets they play a sound for each thing they pass. It is a great site for music lovers!
- Maths activity – Countdown
Can you play countdown and make the target number?
- Maths activity – Four Triangles Puzzle
Can you solve the four triangles puzzle?
- BBC History
A site we have been using during our London topic to help us find out about the past.
- Woodlands Website
A very useful website for researching curriculum topics. Also has lots of games. Have a look!
- BBC – Starship Activities
Go on a cosmic voyage!
